Biography

Anthony N. Palumbo is an attorney admitted into practice in the States of New Jersey, New York and Texas since 1970.

The main focus of practice is trial work with emphasis on Municipal Courts and Criminal Law.

Following the completion of law school at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, he worked as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Union County New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office. During his years at the Prosecutor’s Office, he was in charge of a trial team and tried numerous criminal cases to completion. He was responsible for and argued numerous criminal motions including motions to suppress evidence, post-conviction relief motions and motions challenging the admissibility of confessions. His legal responsibilities at the Prosecutor’s Office included presentation of criminal cases to the Union County Grand Jury. He also was the legal advisory to the Union County Homicide Squad and oversaw investigations for the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.

His private criminal practice involves representation of defendants in the state and federal courts in New Jersey and appearances in the several hundred municipal courts in the State of New Jersey where he represents defendants in matters as diverse as drunk driving, driving without insurance, driving on the revoked list, possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substances) and all the other charges that can be brought against a defendant in the local municipal courts.

Mr. Palumbo has been in private practice exclusively in New Jersey continuously since 1973.  During that time, he has appeared in every county in the State of New Jersey and in most of the Municipal Court in the State of New Jersey.  He has offices in Brielle, New Jersey, Cranford, New Jersey and Elizabeth, New Jersey.  He is available for consultations in all offices. 

He is a former Municipal Prosecutor in the Township of Cranford, New Jersey. He has appeared on Spotlight Internet Radio and has been interviewed numerous times by newspapers and magazines concerning the topics of Criminal Law and Municipal Court law in the state of New Jersey. He is presently Public Defender in the City of Linden, New Jersey. He has both prosecuted and defended thousands of cases in various municipal courts in the State of New Jersey from Cape May to Mahwah. Mr. Palumbo is a member of a number of Bar Associations including the American Criminal Trial Lawyers’ Association.
